Overview
The Camera Simulator helps you build and visualize precise camera framing, angles, roll, lens selection, and depth-of-field descriptions for AI image generators (e.g., Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, DALL-E 3).
Interactive Layout Canvas
The 2D layout represents the stage from a top-down view. Drag the yellow camera icon around the subject to adjust the distance (shot type) and the azimuth rotation. Drag the central subject to reposition it.
3D Viewfinder Projection
The right panel simulates the camera viewfinder, using a lightweight 3D perspective projection engine. Changing distance zooms or widens the view; vertical elevation shifts the camera high/low; roll tilts the horizon (Dutch angle); and focal length compresses or expands the perspective. Adjusting aperture dynamically blurs the background circles (bokeh effect) to show depth of field.
Parameters Guide
- Distance: Controls shot framing (Extreme Close-Up, Close-Up, Medium, Full, Wide).
- Azimuth: Rotates the camera around the subject (Front, 3/4 side, Profile, Rear).
- Elevation: Alters vertical camera height (Low-angle, Eye-level, High-angle, Overhead).
- Focal Length: Changes lens characteristics (18mm wide-angle to 200mm telephoto zoom).
- Aperture: Controls background blur from f/1.4 (ultra-shallow) to f/22 (infinite depth).
- Camera Roll: Tilts the camera frame to create dynamic, cinematic Dutch angle shots.
